This initiative aims to prepare Malaysians from all works of life for employment through globally recognised programmes and match them with employers.

These certificates are product agnostic and are designed to help people prepare for jobs at any company or sector.
Certificate holders completed the certificate 100% online within 6 months, with under 10 hours of study per week.
Eligibility Requirements
The Scholarship would only be distributed to Learners who are at least 18 years old and above, and fall into either of the following categories:
- Women;
- Men, from rural communities;
- Men, from B40 communities;

Q: Who is this initiative targeted towards?
A: The Google Gemilang initiative is aimed at women / person living in rural areas (non urban) / low-income communities
|

Q: How will the courses be conducted ?
A: The courses will be presented through online self-paced training. You will be provided with a series of videos to watch and there will be short quizzes to test your knowledge after.
|
|
|
|
Q: What tools would you need for these courses?
A: Any mobile device (ie. smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktop) with stable internet connection.
|
|
|
|
Q: How long will I have to finish the courses?
A: The recommended pace for each certification is approximately 6 months, with a suggested pace of 10 hours/week. Please note that you will need to complete all certification courses within that timeframe, or you will risk losing access to the portal and not attaining your certification.

Q: What happens if I do not complete my courses before the 6 months allocated period?
A: You will lose access to you Coursera portal and will not be able to finish your certification courses. Or you will need to pay the monthly Coursera access fee of RM100 per month, to finish it.

Q: Can I sign up for more than one certification?
A: Yes, you can. However, the courses will take 6 months to complete with a suggested pace of 10 hours/week. If you are able to commit to more hours, then we welcome you to apply for other certifications as well.

Q: How can I benefit from this initiative?
A: At the end of the program, there will be a chance to connect with prospective employers and secure employment opportunities, through the Google Gemilang Consortium.

Q: What background knowledge is necessary to get started with Google Career Certificates?
A: None! Whether you’re completely new to the field or have had some exposure, a Google Career Certificate is the right learning path for you.

Q: Are Google Career Certificates really 100% online?
A: Google Career Certificates are completely online, so there is no need to show up to a classroom in person. You can access your instructional videos, readings, and assignments anytime and anywhere via web or your mobile device.

Q: How much do the Google Career Certificates cost?
A: The Digital Marketing & E-commerce, IT Support, IT Automation, User Experience Design, Project Management and Data Analytics Certificates cost RM100 per month by subscription on Coursera. Google does not generate any revenue from Google Career Certificates and will offer scholarships via partners.

A: Coursera is a global online learning platform that offers access to online courses. Google has worked with Coursera to make Google Career Certificates available on their platform.

Q: What is the Gemilang Employer Consortium? How does it work?
A: The Gemilang Employer Consortium consists of top companies in Malaysia that are committed to considering Gemilang graduates for entry-level positions/jobs.

A: Google Career Certificates are available globally in English on Coursera.

- The scholarship term is 3 months from the enrolment date.
- We are currently prioritising those who are unemployed and looking for work.
- We have a limited number of scholarships to distribute, filling in this application form does not guarantee you a spot.
- Your application will be processed within a timeframe of 1-2 weeks. Please be aware that if you do not receive any communication from us within this period after submitting your application, it indicates that you have not been selected for the program at this time. Nevertheless, if a slot becomes available, we will notify you accordingly.
