This course educates individuals with a system operations background on ways to install, configure, automate, monitor, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the services, networks, and systems on AWS necessary to support business applications. This course will also cover specific AWS features, tools, and best practices related to these functions.

Gain an understanding in: 

  • Automating resource deployment using AWS services such as AWS CloudFormation and AWS Service Catalog 
  • Using AWS services to manage AWS resources through SysOps lifecycle processes such as deployments and patches 
  • Using Amazon CloudWatch and associated features such as alarms, dashboards, and widgets to monitor your cloud environment 
  • Managing permissions and track activity in your cloud environment using AWS services such as AWS CloudTrail and AWS Config

Experience you require: 

  • Successfully completed the AWS Technical Essentials classroom training 
  • A background in either software development or systems administration

  • Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP)

AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate 

The AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate examination is aimed for system administrators in a systems operations role with a minimum experience of one year in deployment, management, and operations on AWS.  

You’ll be validated in your knowledge of: 

  • Deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS 
  • Implementing and controling the flow of data to and from AWS 
  • Selecting the appropriate AWS service based on compute, data, or security requirements 
  • Identifying appropriate use of AWS operational best practices 
  • Estimating AWS usage costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms 
  • Migrating on-premises workloads to AWS
